I have over 700 posts on my Instagram @guacarons and with my post last week with ice cream, I find that I like the ability of integrating my already posted Instagram photos so it saves time as well as gives the people that read my blog a quick way to go straight to my Instagram. This week I am compiling my favourite lattes and they all happen to have great latte art!
I’m starting with what I think is the BEST latte I’ve ever had (I haven’t had that many so don’t judge me if you don’t like it) which is from Revolver. I walked into the cafe as a confused child, not knowing what to order. When I ordered a latte and the cashier asked me which espresso I had the most blank face ever because I didn’t know I could choose. After showing me the two names of espressos I could choose from I had to ask what’s the difference (because really, how would I know?). They told me one tastes fruity and the other doesn’t so I chose the fruity one because why not try unique things? Ended up making a great decision because it tasted amazing.
The next two are from different cafes, but they use the same beans (49th Parallel). This is from Prado Cafe and I love watching the baristas do latte art there. The owner was actually the first ever winner of World Latte Art Championship, so you know they have to be good! They make it look so easy, but it’s so difficult. I’ll be lucky if I even pour the milk into the cup (just kidding, I’m not THAT bad). I ordered a latte and a mocha because sometimes I just need some chocolate to make things sweet.
From looking at the photos I’ve chosen, the two most popular latte art design seem to be the leaf or a heart. This next latte also made with 49th Parallel beans features a donut and a London Fog all from Lucky’s Doughnuts! I have seen photos of places in Japan of 3D latte art or latte art that lets you print out a selfie that looks really cool, but I’ll settle for these since I’m just going to drink them. Side note: their glazed ring donut is AMAZING. Every other original glazed donut I’ve had doesn’t match up to this one!
The last photo is a latte made with Intelligentsia beans from my favourite brunch place, Catch 122! I’m just a little bit biased because my relatives are the owners but I’m not lying when I say that their brunch is the best I’ve ever had and it’s also at a pretty good price! My aunt made my latte and I think that I like the leaf art better than the heart because leaves are all so unique. If you ever decide to stop by Catch 122 for brunch, the things you must try are the Dirty Breakfast, The Catch 122 and Eggs Benedict! Also their Lemon Curd dessert is the prettiest and cutest dessert I’ve ever seen.
